Contact Admin. Today started out quite typically. Lindsey woke up first. We both ignored the two alarms we have set for We both needed to leave our shoebox apartment by 1: I laid in bed feeling drained from the weekend. We stayed up to watch the sunrise both Friday and Saturday night. Last night, Lindsey went to bed at 2am and I went to bed around 4am. He recounts every day he was incarcerated and his frustrations with Korean people. Part of the problem living here is simply caused by being a foreigner, part of it is the way most people ignore others around them, and another part is certain behaviors that seem totally irrational to us in the West.
Anyway, reading the stories of his day-to-day life really compelled me to write another blog post. So I finally got out of bed at Lindsey had brought me coffee, and she was already showered and planning our trip to Mudfest next weekend.
We talked about some details like transferring money and such. Then I took a shower. I finished up a bit after 1: Before I even put my shirt on, my forehead was already covered in sweat. I packed up my laptop, my backpack, put on my belt, grabbed my wallet, and then waited in front of the air conditioner until the last minute.
We left our apartment at 1: We were probably going to be 3 to 6 minutes late, which was quite typical. Your employer is your master here, especially if you teach English. All of our bills, our cell phone, even our apartment is owned by our boss. So if we decided to quit on a whim, we would be left with nothing. We left our apartment building and crossed the street without hesitation. A car was coming toward us at about 25mph, but there was a red light and a line of cars so I knew he had to slow down anyway.
Today, there were a good number of taxis going the opposite way, but none going in our direction, so we flagged one down who had to go to the end of the block to make a U-turn. Then, after completing his U-turn and holding up traffic a bit, another taxi was heading our direction right behind him.
